About the role
We are seeking an experienced and organised Automotive Workshop Controller to join our team asap. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in the smooth operation of our automotive workshop.
As Workshop
Controller, you will be the backbone of our service delivery, overseeing daily operations, managing workflows, and ensuring that all work is completed to the highest standards within agreed timeframes. You will be responsible for coordinating between technicians, customers, and management to deliver exceptional service whilst maintaining efficiency and profitability.
Key responsibilities
- Manage daily workshop operations, including job scheduling, resource allocation, and workflow coordination
- Oversee technical staff and ensure all work is completed to quality standards and within agreed timelines
- Process customer work orders, maintain accurate records, and manage job tracking systems
- Liaise between customers, management, and workshop technicians to ensure clear communication and expectations
- Monitor stock levels of parts and materials, coordinate orders, and manage inventory efficiently
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain a safe, organised workshop environment
- Prepare accurate invoicing and work documentation for completed jobs
- Handle customer inquiries, provide quotes for work, and manage customer relations professionally
- Perform quality inspections on completed work to ensure standards are met before customer delivery
- Contribute to continuous improvement of workshop processes and procedures
What we're looking for Must have - Demonstrated ability to manage people, motivate teams, and maintain a positive workplace culture
- Proven experience working in an automotive workshop environment, with supervisory or controller experience preferred
- Robust knowledge of automotive repair procedures, terminology, and workshop operations
- Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks
- Proficiency with workshop management software and computer systems
- Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact professionally with customers and staff
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate records and documentation
- Problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to resolving workplace challenges
- Valid driver's licence and reliable transportation
- A commitment to health and safety compliance and best practice standards
