Expression of Interest – Bid and Precontracts Managers

Major Infrastructure Projects | East Coast Australia The Bench is inviting expressions of interest from accomplished Bid Managers, Precontracts Managers and pursuit leaders interested in upcoming opportunities across Australia’s infrastructure sector.

We are particularly interested in professionals who can bring structure, commercial judgment and momentum to complex tenders involving multiple technical disciplines and delivery partners.

Opportunities may include consulting assignments, project-based contracts and permanent appointments with major contractors, engineering businesses and infrastructure advisory firms.

The Opportunity

Depending on the engagement, you may be responsible for:

- Leading major bids from opportunity assessment through to final submission
- Establishing the bid strategy, program, governance and internal accountabilities
- Interpreting tender documentation and identifying key commercial, technical and delivery considerations
- Coordinating inputs from engineering, planning, estimating, commercial and operational teams
- Maintaining progress across multiple concurrent bid workstreams
- Managing review processes, approvals and submission requirements
- Working with technical specialists to develop practical and competitive delivery solutions
- Identifying opportunities for innovation, improved value and delivery efficiency
- Managing interfaces between joint-venture participants, delivery partners and external advisers
- Engaging with clients, subcontractors, suppliers and internal stakeholders




- Ensuring submissions are persuasive, compliant and delivered within demanding timeframes
- Supporting presentations, interactive tender sessions and post-submission clarification processes
- Capturing lessons learned and improving bid systems and processes

About You We are keen to speak with professionals who offer:

- Substantial experience in bids, tenders, precontracts or front-end project development
- A strong track record within major infrastructure, construction or engineering environments
- Experience contributing to or leading complex Australian project pursuits
- The ability to coordinate senior technical and commercial contributors
- Solid understanding of project delivery methodology, pricing, risk and contractual considerations
- Excellent written communication, stakeholder-management and presentation skills
- Sound judgment under pressure and the ability to maintain focus across competing priorities
- A collaborative but decisive leadership style
- The ability to convert complex technical information into a clear and compelling proposition

Experience across transport, utilities, energy, rail, roads, civil construction or multidisciplinary engineering projects will be highly regarded. Candidates with either a precontracts background or substantial project-delivery experience are encouraged to register their interest.
