The OpportunityTRACTON For Young People is offering a meaningful chance for suitably experienced people passionate about making a real, practical difference in the lives of young people to join its volunteer Board.
About UsEstablished in 2015, TRACTION for Young People is a respected Queensland-based not-for profit (NFP) organisation dedicated to empowering vulnerable young people who are often experiencing disengagement - to build confidence, resilience and hope for their future. The TRACTION Board is evolving to strengthen its collective skills and experience in readiness to support an exciting period of growth in TRACTION’s capability and impact.
About the RoleAs a Non-executive Director you will provide strategic guidance, oversight and constructive challenge to support the CEO and the organisation. You will also leverage your network and connections to raise awareness of TRACTION’s purpose and actively support philanthropic and fundraising strategies to secure TRACTION’s long-term sustainability and impact. What You’ll Bring - Qualifications and ExperienceEssential
- Current Queensland Blue Card or eligibility to obtain one
Desirable
- Prior experience as a non-executive director is highly regarded
- AICD qualification or similar
- Experience in NFP organisations or corporates
- Demonstrated skills and experience in 2 or more of the following areas:
- Youth-focused service delivery & program evaluation and/or research or policy development experience
- Fundraising and Philanthropy
- NFP / Board Governance
- Financial & Risk Management
- Digital, Data & Technology
- Corporate Affairs / Government Relations
The CommitmentThe Board meets in person up to 8 times per year and attendance is also required at the AGM and any Committee meetings where relevant. Directors are expected to commit time to proactively expand TRACTION’s corporate, donor and philanthropic network; undertake mandatory compliance training; and attend two or more scheduled TRACTION stakeholder engagement events during each calendar year.
