ABS Accountable Business Solutions is a growing accounting firm, and we are looking for an experienced Bookkeeper to join our team.

We would love you to work alongside us in our beautiful new Bendigo office, while for the right candidate, we are also happy to offer the flexibility to work from home as part of the role.

About the Role

This is not an entry-level position. We need someone who can hit the ground running, manage their own workload and confidently complete bookkeeping and BAS work with minimal supervision.

Your responsibilities will include

- Complete bookkeeping and account reconciliations

- Bank and credit card reconciliations

- Accounts payable and receivable

- Payroll processing and reconciliations

- Superannuation

- GST coding and review

- Fixed Assets - Amortisation Loans

- Preparation and completion of BAS and IAS

- Reconciling GST, payroll and balance sheet accounts

- Identifying and correcting bookkeeping errors

- Liaising directly with clients to obtain information and resolve queries

- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date Xero files

What We Are Looking For

You must have at least 5 years' bookkeeping experience and be highly competent in Xero.

We are looking for someone who:





- Can prepare a BAS from start to finish

- Has a strong understanding of GST, payroll and bookkeeping principles

- Understands how to reconcile and verify balance sheet accounts

- Can identify when something doesn't look right and investigate it

- Is organised and able to manage multiple clients and deadlines

- Has excellent attention to detail

- Communicates well with clients and team members

- Is a genuine self-starter

- Takes ownership of their work and follows tasks through to completion

- Is comfortable working in a growing, busy and fast-paced environment

You should not require training in the fundamentals of bookkeeping, Xero or BAS preparation. We will show you our systems and processes, but we need someone who already has the technical skills and experience to perform the role confidently.
