Business Development Manager — Central Coast NSW An established territory, the biggest product pipeline in muk's history arriving over the next 18 months, and a brand that has grown more than 15% every year for five years running.
About muk Haircare muk Haircare is an Australian family-owned professional haircare brand, designed by industry professionals. With an international footprint and turnkey product portfolio, we are the trusted partner for professional salons and distributors. Our product portfolio — professional colour, care and styling tools — is sold in salons across Australia and in 15 countries, online, on Amazon and through selected distributors and retailers.
The business is in its biggest growth phase yet, backed by the largest capital investment in muk's history and the appointment of a new CEO, CFO and CMO to drive a three-year strategy. Last financial year was the biggest in our history.
This is not a hold-the-fort role. The biggest product pipeline we have ever had arrives over the next 18 months — a men's grooming range, a prestige range that takes muk somewhere it has never been, and a run of new product across our core ranges. We are backing it with real investment in technology, in education and in the sales team itself. We need someone to sell it, salon by salon, across the Central Coast.
This is a full-time, 12-month fixed-term contract covering a period of parental leave.
Your Role
- Own the salon and professional channel across your territory: more doors, better doors, bigger doors
- Maintain and grow an established customer base — hold what we have, then go and win what we do not
- Grow our colour business:
our strongest product and our single biggest commercial opportunity in the territory
- Assist with the management of our wholesale and major retail accounts in your patch
- Get every new launch into market with the training, the sell-in story and the sampling behind it — you will be trained and ready well before launch day
- Bring the forecasting rigour and pipeline discipline the business can plan on. We run on HubSpot and you will be in it every day
- Report to the NSW State Manager, with the autonomy to run the territory as your own business
About You
- Hair, beauty or personal care sales experience, with real credibility in the salon and professional channel
- A track record of growing a territory, not just servicing one
- Highly organised — you plan a week and you hold to it
- CRM discipline in your bones — HubSpot ideally
- A strong work ethic and the willingness to go the extra mile for your customers
- Genuine enthusiasm for the industry and a team-first approach
- A current Australian driver's licence — this is a role on the road
Nice to have
- Technical hair or beauty industry background (we'd love that)
- Men's grooming or prestige beauty experience
- Experience launching new ranges into the qualified channel
- Territory management across a large and diverse geographic patch
Why muk Most brands in this category answer to a head office in another time zone, where the strategy is written and a decision takes a quarter. muk is Australian owned and run out of Melbourne. For a rep, that means the people who decide what goes in your bag are people you can call. If a salon tells you something on a Tuesday, it can be in front of the leadership team by Friday. Anyone who has carried the bag for a multinational knows how rare that is.
You would also be in the best industry there is. Hairdressers are the most loyal customers on earth and the most honest — they will tell you exactly what they think of your product before you have finished your first coffee. Anyone who has sold into this channel knows that is a feature, not a bug.
What's on Offer
- Attractive salary package
- Monthly commission and bonus structure
- Car allowance and fuel card
- Access to free hair product (of course)
- A friendly culture that genuinely backs each other
- A brand built on real values: honest products, no compromise on quality, and real care for our people and our community
- Proudly Australian owned, cruelty free and bold about both
- A genuine possibility of an ongoing role at the end of the contract, subject to business need

We are a serious business having a genuinely good time building an Australian brand into something a lot bigger. If you want a sales job, there are plenty. If you want a territory to build and a brand worth building it for — let's talk.
