Love restaurants, bars, and the energy of Hobart's hospitality scene? Good with people, quick on your feet, and not afraid to strike up a conversation with a stranger? Keep reading.
One of Australia's fastest-growing tech companies is on the hunt for a new Business Development Manager to join the team and help take Hobart's hospitality scene by storm.
Already crushing it across Australia and now scaling into the UK and beyond, this VC-backed tech platform is genuinely changing the game for hospitality – helping restaurants and bars fill more tables, boost revenue, and thrive, while giving diners incredible deals along the way.
It's fast-moving, it's ambitious, and this is your chance to get in early, build something real, and be rewarded like it.
With uncapped earning potential, total autonomy over your patch, and a front-row seat to a business that's only just getting started – this is more than a job. It's a genuine opportunity to build a responsible career on your own terms.
The Role:
Think of this as a genuinely people-first sales role. You'll be out and about across Brisbane and surrounding areas, popping into venues, having a chat with owners and operators, and showing them how the platform can bring in more customers and more revenue.
Some conversations turn into partnerships on the spot; others take a bit of relationship-building. Either way, you're in the driver's seat.
You'll manage your own patch and your own diary, balancing time between meeting new venues, following up with people you've already met, and helping onboard new partners once they're on board.
On any given week, you'll be:
- Meeting venue owners and operators face-to-face across Hobart and surrounding TAS areas
- Reaching out to new venues by phone, in person, or via a quick drop-in
- Chatting through how the platform works and what's in it for them
- Building relationships and keeping your pipeline ticking along nicely
- Pulling together and closing deals with venues who are keen to get on board
- Helping new partners settle in and get the most out of their first campaigns
- Keeping your CRM tidy so you always know where things stand
What's On Offer
- $85,000 base salary + super + (fuel allowance) + comms
- Genuine $150k+ on-target earnings – completely uncapped!
- A tiered commission structure that just keeps giving the harder you go – some of the top performers in the business are pulling in $300k+ a year
- Full ownership of your own patch from day one, with a supportive team around you rather than someone looking over your shoulder
- Genuine career progression as the business grows across Australia and beyond
- A front-row seat to new market launches and expansion plans
- A fun, social, high-performing team culture
- Open to sponsor overseas candidates
About You:
- Naturally chatty, warm, and comfortable striking up conversations with new people
- Genuinely enjoys the thrill of bringing new business on board, not just managing what's already there
- Some experience in a sales or target-driven role under your belt, and happy to talk through what you've achieved
- Comfortable getting out and about, meeting people face to face, and picking up the phone when needed
- Resilient and upbeat – you don't take a "not right now" personally, and you bounce back quickly
- Enjoys having autonomy and being trusted to manage your own time and territory
- A genuine interest in the hospitality world and how venues tick
This Role Might Not Be for You If...
- You'd rather stay fully desk-based or remote
- Chatting to new people or knocking on doors isn't your thing
- You're not keen on having targets to work towards
- You need someone checking in on you throughout the day
- You're after the structure and process of a big corporate
If you love people, love hospitality, and want a role that rewards you generously for being good at both – we'd love to hear from you. Apply now.
