We are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to expand our client base and strategic partnerships across Australia and New Zealand.
The opportunity
This is a senior, client-facing position for someone who can build trusted relationships and convert business, regulatory and technology challenges into cybersecurity consulting opportunities.
You will focus on generating new business, developing strategic accounts and establishing partnerships with managed service providers, government suppliers and industry organisations.
You will be supported by Cybernetic Global Intelligence’s Chief Information Security Officer and senior consultants during technical discovery, solution development and major client presentations.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and execute a targeted business-development plan for Australia and New Zealand.
- Generate qualified opportunities within government, healthcare, financial services, retail, aviation, maritime, logistics and other regulated industries.
- Establish referral, co-delivery and white-label partnerships with managed service providers.
- Engage CEOs, board members, CIOs, CISOs, CFOs, risk leaders and procurement decision-makers.
- Sell cybersecurity consulting services, including PCI DSS, ISO 27001, Essential Eight, governance, risk, security testing and virtual CISO engagements.
- Qualify client requirements, budgets, decision processes and procurement timelines.
- Coordinate technical discovery meetings with Cybernetic Global Intelligence’s senior consultants and CISO.
- Prepare and manage proposals, presentations, tenders and commercial negotiations.
- Maintain accurate sales-pipeline, forecasting and client-activity information through the company’s CRM.
- Expand existing accounts by identifying additional consulting and recurring-service opportunities.
- Represent Cybernetic Global Intelligence at industry events, executive forums and partner meetings.
- Work closely with leadership and marketing to develop sector-specific campaigns and thought leadership.
What success looks like During your first six months, you will be expected to:
- Build a credible and measurable pipeline of qualified opportunities.
- Establish relationships with priority organisations and senior decision-makers.
- Develop a targeted portfolio of MSP and channel partners.
- Convert initial cybersecurity assessments into larger consulting engagements.
- Demonstrate disciplined forecasting, follow-up and proposal management.
- Achieve agreed new-business and revenue targets.
The position offers a competitive remuneration package that recognises your experience, together with performance-based incentives and professional growth opportunities.
About you
You will ideally have
- At least five years of successful business-development or enterprise-sales experience.
- Experience selling cybersecurity, technology, skilled consulting or managed services.
- A demonstrated record of securing new clients and growing strategic accounts.
- Strong relationships within government, regulated industries, technology providers or the MSP community.
- The ability to discuss cybersecurity risk in clear commercial and executive language.
- Experience working with long and complex enterprise sales cycles.
- Strong proposal, presentation, negotiation and relationship-management skills.
- The confidence to engage board members, executives and senior technology leaders.
- A disciplined approach to pipeline management, forecasting and reporting.
- The ability to work independently while collaborating closely with technical specialists.
Knowledge of PCI DSS, ISO 27001, Essential Eight,
privacy obligations or cybersecurity governance will be highly regarded. Deep technical qualifications are not essential, as Cybernetic Global Intelligence specialists will support solution scoping and technical discussions.
