Are you an experienced café manager with strong barista skills and a passion for hospitality by the water? Sunset Pier Café, a busy waterfront venue known for relaxed evenings and community events, is hiring a full time Café Manager to lead the team, shape menus, create events, and manage rosters.

Role

- Manage day-to-day café operations (5 days per week, including weekends)
- Lead, coach and roster a team of baristas and front-of-house staff
- Prepare and train staff as an experienced barista; ensure consistent coffee quality and service standards
- Create seasonal menus, daily specials and beverage offerings in line with café style and waterfront clientele
- Plan and deliver events (live music, pop-ups, private bookings), working with suppliers and performers
- Oversee stock control, supplier orders, cost control and basic financial reporting
- Ensure health, safety and food-hygiene compliance; maintain a clean, welcoming venue
- Resolve customer issues and maintain excellent customer relationships

Requirements
- Minimum 2 years’ proven management experience in a café/restaurant environment
- Strong hands-on barista experience — skilled with espresso machines and beverage prep
- Excellent leadership,



rostering and time-management skills
- Experience planning events and developing menus an advantage
- Sound understanding of stock control, cost-of-goods and basic financial procedures
- Customer-focused, reliable, and able to work weekends and evenings as required
- Current food-safety certificate and right to work locally

To qualify for sponsorship in QLD, you need a Diploma in Hospitality and a minimum of three years' management experience in Australia hospitality after completing the diploma.
