Red Square Cafe is a family owned business that has been operating on the Eastern Shore for over 15 years, with venues in Cambridge and Glenorchy. We are a busy, fast paced cafe serving breakfast, lunch, coffee and takeaway 7 days a week. We have a large team and a strong focus on good food, great coffee and friendly, efficient service.

We are looking for an experienced Cafe FOH Supervisor / All Rounder (2IC) to join our team at Cambridge.

About the role

This is a hands on FOH role working closely with the venue manager and helping lead the front of house team. As the 2IC, you will help keep the cafe running smoothly day to day and take responsibility for FOH when the venue manager is not on site. You will be expected to lead by example and be comfortable jumping into whatever needs doing, whether that's making coffee, serving customers, running food, clearing tables or helping the team through a busy service.

Skills and experience

- Previous experience in a cafe, restaurant or similar hospitality environment
- Experience supervising or leading a FOH team
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Confident working in a busy, fast paced environment
- Good coffee skills
- Ability to lead by example and work hands on alongside the team
- Reliable, organised and able to stay calm under pressure
- Good understanding of cafe service and day to day FOH operations
- Flexible availability, including weekends




- A positive attitude and willingness to help wherever needed

Key responsibilities

- Support the venue manager with the day to day operation of the cafe
- Lead and supervise the FOH team during service
- Help ensure customers receive friendly, efficient service
- Make coffee and work across all areas of FOH as required
- Assist with opening and closing procedures
- Help train and support team members
- Keep service organised and running efficiently during busy periods
- Maintain high standards of presentation, cleanliness and customer service
- Communicate effectively with the kitchen and management team
- Deal with day to day customer and staff issues professionally
- Step up and take responsibility for the FOH operation when the venue manager is not on site
