Automotive Parts Salesperson

Rapid Car Parts is looking for an experienced and knowledgeable Automotive Parts Salesperson to join our busy team.

We are seeking someone with strong knowledge of vehicles, mechanical components and automotive parts who can confidently understand customer requirements, identify the correct parts and turn enquiries into sales.

This is an ideal position for someone who has worked as a mechanic, parts interpreter, dismantler, automotive salesperson or within a wrecking/recycling business and wants to use their automotive knowledge in a sales environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Answer customer phone calls, online enquiries and walk-in customers.
- Understand customer requirements and identify the correct vehicle parts.
- Use your automotive knowledge to accurately identify and match parts.
- Quote customers on genuine second-hand and recycled automotive parts.
- Convert enquiries into sales and maximise sales opportunities.
- Explain part condition, compatibility and availability to customers.
- Identify suitable alternative parts where the requested part is unavailable.
- Liaise with the dismantling and yard teams to locate and prepare parts.
- Search vehicle and parts inventory systems to locate stock.
- Provide accurate pricing and information to customers.
- Process sales and organise collection, delivery or freight of parts.
- Follow up customer enquiries and outstanding quotes.
- Build robust relationships with repeat customers, workshops, mechanics and trade customers.
- Maintain accurate customer and sales records.




- Assist with identifying new parts that should be removed from vehicles for resale.
- Help ensure parts are correctly labelled, photographed and entered into inventory.
- Work towards individual and team sales targets.
- Provide professional and friendly customer service at all times.

Automotive Knowledge – Essential The successful applicant must have strong knowledge of automotive parts and vehicles. You should be confident identifying and discussing components such as:

- Engines and engine components
- Automatic and manual transmissions
- Turbochargers
- Alternators and starter motors
- Suspension and steering components
- Brakes
- Electrical and electronic components
- Body panels and exterior parts
- Interior components
- Cooling systems
- Air conditioning components
- Differentials and driveline components
- Wheels and tyres
- 4WD components and accessories

You should also have the ability to understand vehicle variants, model differences, engine types, transmission types and part compatibility.

What We're Looking For

- Strong automotive knowledge is essential.
- Previous experience in automotive parts sales is highly regarded.
- Mechanics, parts interpreters, vehicle dismantlers and experienced automotive workers are encouraged to apply.
