ABOUT THE BUSINESS
Game 7 Projects Pty Ltd is an established Queensland construction company specialising in new homes, custom duplexes, extensions, renovations, fit-outs and other residential construction projects.
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Carpenter to join our construction team.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Study drawings and specifications to determine required materials, dimensions and installation procedures.
- Order and select suitable timber and other construction materials and prepare project layouts.
- Measure, mark, cut and shape materials using hand and power tools.
- Assemble and secure cut and shaped components.
- Erect wall frameworks and roof framing.
- Lay subflooring and floorboards and verify the trueness and alignment of structures.
- Install fascia panels and roof sheathing.
- Fit exterior wall cladding, doors and window frames.
- Assemble prepared timber to form structures and fittings ready for installation.
- Mark out and cut timber joints accurately.
- Construct concrete formwork where required.
- Repair or replace existing fixtures and fittings.
- Work with materials including plastic laminates,
Perspex and metals where required.
- Inspect completed work to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications and quality standards.
- Follow workplace health and safety procedures and maintain a clean and organised worksite.
- Coordinate with builders, supervisors, subcontractors and other trades.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE The successful applicant must have:
- Certificate III in Carpentry or an equivalent relevant trade qualification.
- At least one year of relevant carpentry experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge of residential construction methods and building materials.
- Ability to read and interpret building plans, drawings and specifications.
- Competence in using carpentry hand tools, power tools and construction equipment.
- A valid Construction White Card.
- A current driver’s licence and reliable transport.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a construction team.
- Valuable communication, time-management and problem-solving skills.
