About the role
n
We are hiring a Kids STEM Teacher to deliver hands-on Arduino, coding, electronics and robotics classes for children aged 8 to 12 in Melbourne.
n
This is a part-time contractor role for someone who enjoys teaching children and can explain technical ideas in a simple, practical and engaging way.
n
Work arrangement
n

- Contractor role paid at AUD $30 to $35 per hour.
n
- Part-time schedule, 2 to 3 days per week.
n
- Approximately 6 to 8 teaching hours per week, with potential for additional hours based on class demand.
n
- In-person classes in Melbourne, Victoria.
n
n
Responsibilities
n
n
- Teach Arduino, coding, electronics, robotics and STEM activities to children aged 8 to 12.
n
- Prepare simple project-based lessons and classroom activities.
n
- Create a safe, positive and age-appropriate learning environment.
n
- Keep students engaged through practical demonstrations and hands-on projects.
n
- Communicate student progress and classroom feedback when required.
n
- Adjust lessons based on student age, ability and class performance.
n

Requirements
n
n
- Experience teaching, tutoring, mentoring or coaching children.
n
- Knowledge of Arduino, coding, robotics, electronics or STEM education.
n
- Patient, energetic and transparent communication style.
n
- Reliable availability for 2 to 3 days per week.
n
- Ability to work as a contractor.
n
n
Nice to have
n
n
- Experience teaching students aged 8 to 12.
n
- Experience preparing project-based technology lessons.
n
- Working With Children Check or willingness to obtain one.
n
n
Pay
n
AUD $30 to $35 per hour.
