About the Role

Château Tanunda is seeking a passionate and engaging Cellar Door Sales Attendant to join our team in Tanunda, South Australia. As a Cellar Door Sales Attendant, you will be at the heart of our visitor experience, welcoming guests from around Australia and the world and introducing them to the history, wines and stories of Château Tanunda and the Barossa Valley.

You will play an important role in creating memorable and personalised wine experiences, delivering engaging tastings and helping guests discover wines that suit their individual preferences. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who loves hospitality, enjoys connecting with people and has a genuine passion for wine and the Barossa Valley.

Key Responsibilities

- Warmly welcome and engage all visitors, creating a friendly and memorable first impression
- Deliver engaging and informative wine tastings tailored to the knowledge and interests of each guest
- Share the story of Château Tanunda, including our rich history, heritage, vineyards and winemaking traditions
- Educate guests about the Barossa Valley, its unique terroir, wine regions and world-renowned Old Vine heritage
- Confidently present and recommend wines based on individual customer preferences and tasting experiences
- Build genuine relationships with visitors and create memorable experiences that encourage repeat visitation and customer loyalty
- Drive Cellar Door wine sales through knowledgeable recommendations, premium wine presentations and exceptional customer service
- Process wine sales and transactions accurately using the point-of-sale system
- Assist with wine club and membership enquiries and promote relevant membership benefits and experiences




- Assist with private tastings, group bookings, events and special guest experiences
- Maintain a high standard of presentation across the Cellar Door, tasting areas and visitor spaces

What We're Looking For

- Previous experience in a Cellar Door, winery, wine retail, hospitality or premium customer service environment is highly desirable
- A genuine passion for wine, hospitality and creating exceptional visitor experiences
- An engaging and confident personality with the ability to make guests feel welcome and comfortable
- Strong communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to bring wine and the Château Tanunda story to life
- A willingness to continually develop your knowledge of wine, viticulture, winemaking and the Barossa Valley
- Strong sales skills with a focus on genuine customer needs rather than transactional selling
- A professional and polished approach to premium hospitality
- Excellent attention to detail and a high standard of personal presentation
- Robust organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple guests and priorities in a busy Cellar Door environment
- Availability to work weekends and public holidays as required
- Responsible Service of Alcohol certification or willingness to obtain one
