We are recruiting for a range of casual, temporary and permanent Dental Assistant opportunities, offering the chance to bring your skills to a supportive and patient-focused environment.
About The Opportunity
Join the Central Coast Local Health District Oral Health Service and contribute to the delivery of safe, high-quality dental care to our diverse community. Working alongside clinicians and the wider Oral Health team, you will provide clinical support while ensuring patients receive a caring, professional and positive experience. In this role you will:
- Assist clinicians with the provision of dental treatment to eligible patients, including people with disability, older people and those with complex needs.
- Maintain high standards of infection prevention and control, including the cleaning and preparation of dental instruments for sterilisation.
- Provide reception and administrative support, including patient registration, appointment management, records and data entry.
- Operate and maintain dental equipment in accordance with manufacturer instructions, policies and safe work practices.
- Communicate effectively with patients, colleagues and other health professionals, contributing to a supportive and collaborative Oral Health team.

About You
You are a caring and adaptable Dental Assistant who takes pride in providing high-quality patient care and supporting clinicians in a busy oral health environment. With a strong focus on infection control, communication and teamwork, we are looking for someone who has
- Certificate III in Dental Assisting (or qualification deemed by the Ministry of Health to be equivalent), or relevant experience as a Dental Assistant.
Please note:
Unqualified but experienced dental assistants can be employed as Dental Assistants Grade 1. Such employees commence and remain on level 1 year 1 until they obtain formal qualifications through study or recognition of prior learning. The employee is responsible for obtaining formal qualifications in their own time and at their own expense.
- Sound knowledge of infection control procedures within a dental clinic setting.
- Strong communication and customer service skills, with the ability to interact professionally and compassionately with patients.
- Confidence using Microsoft Office applications or Dental related software and completing accurate data entry and administrative tasks.
- The ability to work collaboratively, respond flexibly to changing priorities and locations, and confidently manage challenging situations or clients.
Applicants must have current work rights in Australia or be a permanent resident or citizen. Applicants must also hold a current Australian Drivers Licence. Unfortunately, we cannot consider applicants who do not meet this requirement.
