Are you passionate about preparing nutritious, wholesome meals and creating positive food experiences for young children?
Indigo Early Learning Centre Woombye is looking for a warm, organised and enthusiastic Centre Cook to join our supportive team on a permanent part-time basis.

About the role
As our Centre Cook, you will prepare fresh, nutritious vegetarian meals and snacks for the children each day. You will play an important role in supporting children’s health and wellbeing while ensuring individual allergies, dietary requirements and cultural needs are carefully managed.
Your responsibilities will include
- Preparing and serving nutritious vegetarian meals and snacks
- Following the centre’s rotating menu and assisting with menu planning
- Managing allergies, intolerances and individual dietary requirements
- Maintaining a clean, protected and organised kitchen
- Completing required food safety records and documentation
- Monitoring kitchen supplies and placing orders within budget
- Ensuring food is stored, prepared and served safely
- Working collaboratively with educators and the centre leadership team
- Creating positive and engaging food experiences for children
About you We would love to hear from applicants who have:
- Experience cooking in an early childhood service or similar environment
- A current Food Handling Certificate
- Food Safety Supervisor certification, or a willingness to obtain it
- A strong understanding of allergies, dietary requirements and safe food preparation
- Confidence preparing nutritious vegetarian meals
- A warm, reliable and collaborative approach
- A current Blue Card or willingness to obtain one
Previous childcare cooking experience would be highly regarded; however, we welcome applications from cooks with transferable experience who share our values and are excited to work within an early childhood environment. Why join Indigo?
