Madison Day Surgery (MDS) is seeking an experienced and motivated CEO/Director of Nursing (CEO/DoN) to lead our high-performing team and maintain our reputation as a leading provider in the day surgery sector.

We are looking for a CEO/DoN who loves to be hands-on, leading by example to strengthen the hospital’s pre-eminent position in the day surgery sector. Ideally, the successful candidate will be someone who thrives in a varied role and equally enjoys opportunities to promote the hospital to assure its potential.
To be considered for this position, you must be able to meet the following essential criteria:
· Current relevant AHPRA Registration
· Post graduate qualification in nursing and/or a tertiary qualification in management
· Minimum 5 years post graduate nursing experience
· Minimum 1-year administrative experience in a position equivalent to, or more senior than, nursing unit manager
· Working knowledge of and adherence to the 8 ACQSHC National Standards as appropriate
· Working knowledge of Industrial Relations Acts, regulations and other relevant statutory obligations (incl. Work Health & Safety)
· Knowledge of contemporary risk management strategies which are effective in promoting and ensuring safe patient care
· Knowledge of the regulation of health care professionals
· Knowledge of Accreditation Requirements under ACHS EQuIP5, or ISO (as appropriate)
· Understanding of contemporary clinical practice
· Skills in project management and implementation
· Knowledge of health funding models and arrangements pertaining to private/public health sectors
· Knowledge of the ANCI Competency standards for Registered Nurses
· Commercial sense and business acumen
