Location: 931 Heidelberg - Kinglake Rd, Hurstbridge VIC 3099

Full Time Position; Approximately 38 hours per week.

We are currently seeking a skilled Chef to join our dynamic team at Butter Kitchen The ideal candidate should have experience in the culinary field and a strong passion for creating delicious, high-quality Indian dishes.

This position includes a variety of duties focused on food preparation, cooking, and presentation.

Key Responsibilities

- Preparing and cooking food as per menu
- Planning menus, estimating food and labour costs, and ordering food supplies
- Monitoring quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation
- Discussing food preparation issues with Managers, Dietitians and kitchen and
- waiting staff
- Demonstrating techniques and advising on cooking procedures.
- Explaining and enforcing hygiene regulations
- Select and train staff
- Freeze and preserve foods

Qualifications and Skills:



We are seeking candidates with at least three years of experience in food preparation in an Indian traditional restaurant setting. A solid understanding of kitchen health and safety protocols, including proper food handling and sanitation practices, is essential.

The ideal candidate will be skilled in various culinary techniques and comfortable using kitchen equipment and tools. Attention to detail in both food preparation and presentation is crucial, with a strong commitment to producing high-quality dishes.

You should be able to accurately and creatively follow recipes and menu plans. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are a must, along with the ability to thrive in a collaborative kitchen environment. Physical endurance is also significant, as the role involves working in a fast-paced setting and standing for extended periods.
