About the Role

We are seeking a talented and passionate Chef to join our dynamic team in THE Q. As a key member of our hospitality and catering operation, you will be responsible for creating exceptional culinary experiences that delight our guests. This permanent, full-time position offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your culinary skills in a vibrant and supportive environment.

About Us The Q, located at 70 Ipswich - Boonah Rd, Purga, Queensland 4306. Is a new state of the art greyhound racing facility in Purga, situated on the outskirts of Ipswich. The facility includes 3 separate race tracks, a community club complete with a 350 seat restaurant, sports bar, a gaming room with 60 machines.

The Club is committed to fostering a family-friendly and balanced workplace, offering flexibility in work arrangements to support personal commitments.

Tasks & Responsibilities

- Planning and preparing high-quality meals across lunch, dinner, and function service
- Supervising kitchen operations during busy service periods
- Assisting with menu planning, specials, and seasonal offerings
- Monitoring food preparation, portion control,



and presentation standards
- Training and mentoring apprentice and junior kitchen staff
- Managing stock rotation, ordering, and minimising wastage
- Ensuring compliance with food safety, WHS, and hygiene regulations
- Maintaining consistency and efficiency in a high-volume kitchen environment
- Coordinating with management regarding operational requirements and customer expectations

Qualifications & experience

- Minimum 1 years experience as a Chef in a busy commercial kitchen
- Relevant qualification in Commercial Cookery or equivalent
- Experience in high-volume bistro, club, restaurant, or functions environments
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure in a quick-paced environment
- Sound knowledge of food safety and kitchen compliance standards
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays

Employment is under the Registered and Licensed Clubs Award 2020 Salary range $75,000 - $80,000 per year plus super
