Chemical Handling Operative - Karratha, W.A.
OEG Offshore is a leading global provider of logistics, equipment rental and supply base services to the energy sector. Due to continued growth, we are seeking a motivated Chemical Handling Operative to join our friendly and supportive team based in Karratha.
This is a permanent full-time position, working Monday to Friday, 8-hour days, offering stability, work-life balance and the opportunity to build a long-term career with a respected international organisation.
Based at our Gap Ridge Supply Base, you will play a hands-on role in the safe handling, storage, blending and preparation of chemicals used to support offshore energy operations. Working as part of a team-oriented operations team, you will help ensure products are prepared, stored and dispatched safely, efficiently and in compliance with industry and customer requirements.
This role would suit someone with a strong safety focus, a positive attitude and a willingness to learn, with on-the-job training provided for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct receipt inspections of packaged chemicals (IBC, drums and pails) and complete associated documentation.
- Safely store dangerous and non-dangerous goods in accordance with site licence requirements and relevant legislation.
- Process customer orders for the supply and dispatch of chemicals.
- Perform pre-filling inspections of offshore chemical tanks and complete associated documentation.
- Fill offshore chemical tanks in accordance with company procedures and customer specifications.
- Label offshore chemical tanks to ensure compliance with IMDG and ADG7 requirements.
- Conduct product quality control checks and complete all related documentation.
- Collect and retain product samples in accordance with quality procedures.
- Load and secure chemicals onto pallets in accordance with customer requirements.
- Prepare delivery and shipping documentation.
- Operate forklifts for loading, unloading and movement of tanks, IBCs and palletised chemicals.
- Assist with the inspection and maintenance of offshore chemical tanks to ensure compliance with statutory regulations, industry standards and customer requirements.
Experience & Skills Required:
- Current High Risk Work Licence (LF) and experience operating forklifts.
- Previous experience in chemical handling, warehousing, logistics or industrial operations (preferred).
- Working at Heights ticket (preferred).
- Confined Space Entry ticket (preferred).
- Knowledge of IMDG and ADG7 requirements (preferred).
- Mechanical aptitude and strong attention to detail.
- Good computer skills and ability to complete documentation accurately.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in English (written and spoken) is required to perform daily job functions.
- Ability to work safely and effectively in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
- A desire to continuously learn, improve processes and contribute to quality outcomes.
- OEG will provide on-the-job training; however, a willingness to learn and work hard is essential.
