Ngala is seeking an experienced Chief Clinical Services Officer to provide executive leadership across its clinical services and practice, including nursing, mental health and allied health. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer and as a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, you will lead clinical governance, safeguarding, service quality, and the continued development of integrated, client-centred models of care across Ngala.

This is a rare opportunity to lead clinical practice in an organisation with more than 130 years of history supporting parents, families and communities across Western Australia. As Ngala continues to evolve its services and strengthen its impact, we are looking for a clinical executive who can balance operational rigour, professional accountability and strategic ambition. Someone who can strengthen current services while asking what the future model of care needs to look like, and then bring people, evidence and systems together to make that future possible.

About the role

You will provide the CEO and Board with clear assurance regarding clinical quality, safety, safeguarding, risk and performance, ensuring clinical governance is not simply a compliance framework, but an active mechanism for improving care, strengthening practice and delivering better outcomes.

You will build strategic relationships with universities, research institutions, peak bodies, funders, regulators and sector partners, strengthening Ngala’s contribution to research, policy and system improvement, and translating emerging evidence into practice.

This role is for someone who wants to shape and influence how Ngala brings together clinical expertise, multidisciplinary practice and more than 130 years of experience working along side our people to build the next generation of services and care.

About You

You are an accomplished clinical leader who understands that good governance is vital because you know that good clinical practice changes lives. You know your way around accreditation,

quality systems and clinical risk. You also know that frameworks alone do not create safe and effective care.

You hold high standards without losing sight of the humanity behind the work. You can lead a serious incident review in the morning, challenge established practice and interpret complex clinical data by lunchtime and then spend time coaching a developing clinical leader in the afternoon. When something is not working, you have the courage to say so - with clarity, care and a plan for what comes next.

Above all, you lead in a way that reflects Ngala’s values while retaining the curiosity and courage to ask whether there is a better way to deliver care, support our people and improve outcomes for families.

And if you need it in bullet point form:

- Tertiary qualifications in Nursing, Allied Health, Social Work or another relevant health discipline, together with current AHPRA registration where applicable, or eligibility for membership of the relevant professional association.
- Demonstrated senior leadership experience in a clinical setting, with accountability for clinical operations and strategic planning.
- Demonstrated experience contributing at executive level to organisational strategy, governance, financial sustainability and enterprise-wide decision-making.
- Led large scale reform and transformation.
- Demonstrated experience contributing to commissioning, tenders, funding proposals, strategic partnerships and development of clinically sound and financially sustainable services.
- Experience designing, integrating or transforming multidisciplinary models of care across complex service environments.

- Significant experience in clinical governance, risk and quality frameworks, including the National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards and child safe standards.
- A deep understanding of child development, family support and integrated models of care, including parental and infant/perinatal mental health.
- Exceptional people leadership and change management capability.
- Demonstrated commitment to culturally safe and responsive practice, including an understanding of the needs and experiences of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families and culturally and linguistically diverse communities.

The Terms This is a full time executive appointment based at Ngala's head office in Kensington, with travel to other Ngala sites as required. Ngala supports flexible ways of working, recognising that this executive role also requires a visible presence across Ngala's services and locations. A current National Police Certificate, Working with Children Check and WA driver's licence are required.

How to apply To apply, please submit a current CV and a cover letter outlining your interest in the role and the clinical leadership experience you would bring to Ngala.

Applications close 9 October 2026. Shortlisting will commence immediately, so early applications are encouraged. All applications will be treated confidentially.

For a confidential discussion or a copy of the position description, please contact Marija Andacic at [email protected].
