What You’ll Do
This role is designed to proactively manage a blended and complex portfolio of public liability customer claims to deliver effective and sustainable outcomes. By driving early intervention and applying strategic claims management, you will directly impact customer recovery while safeguarding organisational risk. Operating within Australia's largest retailer, you will combine data analysis and legal insights to resolve complex claims efficiently and support a strong culture of risk awareness.
- Manage an ongoing portfolio of complex public liability claims, driving reduced durations through early intervention and proactive management strategies.
- Analyse liability, quantum, and indemnity issues while reviewing contractual documents to evaluate third-party recovery or contribution opportunities.
- Monitor national legal panel performance continuously to ensure strict adherence to established service level agreements.
- Resolve claims within approved delegation of authority limits in a timely, commercial, and cost-effective manner.
- Collaborate with peers by sharing expertise, providing feedback, and translating complex ideas into clear, actionable concepts.
- Identify and resolve emerging operational risks by bridging gaps in business risk awareness and process adherence.
What You’ll Bring
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant claims management experience with a deep understanding of public liability portfolios.
- Demonstrated ability to strategically interpret and apply relevant legislation to complex claims scenarios.
- Strong data analysis, time management, and presentation skills with a proven capability to make complex information simple.
- Proficiency with technical tools including SAP systems and the Google Workspace suite.
- High levels of empathy, resilience, and superior communication skills to build quick rapport and confidence with customers.
