Claims Officer - Commercial Property Liability Claims

Are you an experienced Public Liability, Casualty or Liability Claims professional looking to build your technical expertise in a highly specialised area of insurance?

We're seeking a Claims Officer to join our Liability Claims team, managing a portfolio of third-party property damage claims arising under liability policies of insurance. This is an opportunity to work on complex and varied matters, apply your liability knowledge, and develop your career within a supportive and technically focused environment.

This is a permanent full-time role open to applicants based in Brisbane and Sydney.

What you'll be doing

You'll take ownership of an end-to-end portfolio of liability claims, investigating indemnity and liability, developing relevant claim strategies, negotiating outcomes and delivering fair, commercially sound decisions.

Your day may involve

- Managing a diverse portfolio of public liability claims from lodgement through to resolution
- Investigating liability, quantum and indemnity issues
- Gathering and analysing evidence to support claim outcomes
- Engaging with brokers, customers, solicitors, experts and other stakeholders
- Negotiating settlements and contributing to dispute resolution strategies
- Identifying recovery opportunities and managing litigation exposures where required
- Making decisions that balance customer outcomes with commercial risk

What we're looking for

We're keen to hear from professionals with experience managing public liability claims or third-party claims.

You'll bring:

- Demonstrated experience managing liability claims end-to-end
- Strong analytical and investigative skills
- Confidence interpreting policy coverage and liability principles
- Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management capabilities
- A proactive approach to decision making and problem solving
