The Role
n
Reporting to the Head of Planning, Environment & Sustainability, you will lead planning and approvals activities across Queensland, supporting existing operations and future growth opportunities.
n
As Queensland's planning specialist you will partner with operational leaders to manage development approvals, environmental authorities and planning projects, while balancing commercial outcomes, regulatory compliance and stakeholder expectations.
n
Key Roles and Responsibilities
n
n
- Provide strategic planning and approvals advice across Queensland operations.
n
- Lead development and environmental approval projects from initiation to approval.
n
- Maintain and optimise development consents and environmental authorities.
n
- Develop approval pathways that support operational flexibility and growth.
n
- Manage consultants, technical studies and project budgets.
n
- Build relationships with regulators, communities, Traditional Owners and industry stakeholders.
n
- Monitor regulatory changes, manage risks and identify opportunities.
n
- Support complex approvals,
compliance and business development projects.
n
- Mentor environmental personnel and operational teams.
n
- Travel regularly to sites across Queensland.
n

About You
n
You are an experienced planning and approvals professional with robust knowledge of Queensland's planning and environmental framework. You bring commercial acumen; proven approvals experience and the ability to deliver practical solutions while effectively managing stakeholder relationships.

Required Skills and Proficiencies
n
n
- Experience navigating Queensland planning and approvals processes.
n
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Planning, Environmental Science or related discipline.
n
- Background in planning, environmental approvals, infrastructure, construction materials or similar sectors.
n
- Experience securing and managing development and environmental approvals.
n
- Strong stakeholder engagement, risk management and project management skills.
n
- Knowledge of EPBC approvals highly regarded.
n
- Ability to work autonomously across a geographically dispersed business.
n
n
