Lead Clinical Excellence at Redland Hospital

Multifaceted Clinical Nurse opportunities spanning clinical leadership, education, research and quality improvement

Your new role:

As a Clinical Nurse within Macleay Ward, you will provide advanced clinical leadership and person-centred care to patients with complex medical needs, while supporting the wider nursing and healthcare team to achieve protected, high-quality outcomes. You will:

- Provide advanced assessment, care planning, coordination and delivery of comprehensive nursing care across a diverse medical patient cohort, including acute and chronic conditions and the care of older people.
- Provide clinical leadership and expert guidance to the nursing and multidisciplinary team, including effective delegation, supervision, problem-solving and decision-making in complex clinical situations.
- Support ward operations through shift coordination, staff development, mentoring, change management, quality improvement, risk management and effective utilisation of resources.
- Contribute to clinical education, research, audits and innovation while promoting evidence-based practice, professional development and a strong culture of patient-centred care.

About you: We are looking for an experienced and motivated Registered Nurse who brings advanced clinical capability, strong leadership skills and a commitment to delivering outstanding person-centred care.

- You have advanced clinical knowledge and experience in general medicine, chronic disease and/or acute geriatric medicine, with the ability to assess, plan and evaluate complex nursing care.
- You demonstrate strong clinical leadership, critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the confidence to coordinate care, delegate effectively and support your team in complex situations.
- You are committed to continuous learning and to developing others, with experience contributing to education, quality initiatives, clinical audits, practice improvements and evidence-based care.




- You communicate effectively and build collaborative relationships, demonstrating integrity, accountability and a consistently high standard of personal and professional practice.

Unit Profile Macleay is a 26-bed general medical ward and provides care across a 24-hour continuum. Located on the ground floor of the main building, the geographic layout of the ward includes: four, four-bed bays, two, two-bed bays and six single rooms. Macleay caters for several medical specialties, including respiratory, endocrine, cardiac and other acute and chronic medical diagnoses.

Care of the older person is a significant component of the patient cohort at any one time: including patients with dementia, delirium diagnoses.
