Remuneration: $73,915.12 - $76,218.80 per annum, pro rata (+ super + 17.5% leave loading where applicable)

About the Role A Clinical Support Officer (CSO) provides timely and accurate high level secretarial, administrative and transactional services for members of the health care team on a designated ward or unit, under the direction of the Nursing/Midwifery Manager or Cluster Manager.

The CSO will work under broad supervision but will be required to take some independent action.

Key Accountabilities

- Data entry for unit rosters into relevant IT systems.
- Assist with workforce matters including rostering, leave and payroll.
- Assist with recruitment including: create Approval to Recruit/Temporary Contract and submit for approval as per Delegations manual; sourcing agency staff as directed; ensure recruitment activity is progressed through the IT system and interviews are arranged in a timely manner.
- Assist with the replacement of unplanned leave as per direction, seeking guidance from manager on skill mix requirements.
- Participate in data entry activities that relate to patient care activities.
- Assist in the production of reports on finance and quality parameters/indicators.
- Support and participate in the administrative aspects of activities such as quality and safety audits, accreditation and incident management.




- Assist the unit has adequate stock of medical supplies and equipment required by staff to perform their duties in the delivery of patient care.
- Assist health care team in obtaining/generating information, reports or correspondence related to patient care.
- Undertake administrative tasks related to meetings held on the unit involving clinical staff, including scheduling, ensuring availability of documents and progression of action items.
- Monitor nurse and midwives’ registration and enrolment and present to manager for verification.
- Assist in the unit level administrative coordination of Student Clinical Placements and Transition to Professional Practice and Transitional to Specialty Staff.
- Organise travel and accommodation for unit staff as required (manager approval required).
- Other general administrative and support tasks to support the health care team.

- NSW Working with Children Check
- Vaccination Category: A

Selection Criteria

- Excellent written, verbal and digital communication skills including accurate spelling, positive comprehension, confidence in the spoken word and ability to deal confidently and courteously with people at all levels.
- Demonstrated experience in word processing, spreadsheet and database software.
- Strong organisational skills and ability to meet deadlines.




- Demonstrated commitment to continuous quality improvement and a commitment to a person centred approach.
- Capacity to work under broad supervision and to undertake a diverse range of tasks as an effective member of a team in a high-pressure, high-volume work environment.
- Demonstrated commitment to own professional development to maintain, improve and broaden knowledge, expertise and competence, capability and develop the personal and professional qualities required.
- Evidence of a current Class C drivers licence and ability and willingness to travel for work purposes. This may involve driving long distances with the MLHD.
