Mindstem Academy is looking for enthusiastic Coding Coaches to join our growing team in Eastwood.

We teach children and teenagers how to code, create and solve problems through practical, project based learning. Our students work across areas including Scratch, Python, C++, game development, web development, robotics, 3D design and emerging technologies.

This is not a role where you stand at the front of a classroom and deliver a lesson.

Our coaches work alongside students, helping them understand concepts, debug problems, work through challenges and gradually become more independent and confident creators.

What you will do

- Support students aged approximately 7 to 18 during coding and technology classes
- Help students work through structured lessons and projects at their own pace
- Explain programming concepts in a simple and engaging way
- Help students debug code and solve problems without simply giving them the answer
- Encourage students to think independently and build confidence
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to the centre team
- Help create a positive, welcoming and productive learning setting

Who we are looking for You do not need to be an expert in every technology we teach.

We are looking for people who:

- Have a good foundation in programming, particularly Python and/or Scratch
- Enjoy working with children and young people
- Are patient, approachable and able to explain things clearly




- Enjoy problem solving and helping others work things out
- Are reliable and comfortable committing to regular weekly shifts
- Are willing to learn new technologies and teaching platforms

Students currently studying Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, Engineering, Data Science or related disciplines are strongly encouraged to apply. Previous tutoring, coaching or experience working with children is highly regarded but not essential.

Additional hours may be available during school holiday programs.

We are particularly interested in candidates who can commit to one or more regular weekly shifts.

- Reliable availability for agreed weekly shifts
- Strong communication skills

Pay: $26.44 – $36.36 per hour

Expected hours: 3.0 – 12.0 per week
