Commercial Leadership Role The Bench is interested in speaking with senior commercial professionals with experience delivering complex, large-scale building projects in Western Australia.
We are seeking astute operators who combine strong contractual and commercial expertise with the ability to work effectively alongside project directors, operational teams, consultants and subcontractors.
The successful individual will likely have held a senior position such as Commercial Manager, Senior Commercial Manager, Contracts Manager or an equivalent project-based leadership role.
Key Responsibilities
- Commercial leadership of substantial building projects
- Developing and implementing commercial strategies on major projects
- Advising operational leaders on contractual risk and project performance
- Managing head contract and downstream contractual obligations
- Overseeing procurement, variations, claims and subcontractor negotiations
- Supporting the commercial resolution of complex project issues
- Improving commercial controls, reporting and governance
- Leading, mentoring and developing project commercial teams
About You
- A solid track record within a major contractor or sophisticated construction environment
- Extensive experience across the building sector
- Sound knowledge of contemporary Australian construction contracts
- Strong commercial instincts and the confidence to challenge constructively
- The ability to balance contractual protection with practical project delivery
- Experience managing senior stakeholders in demanding project environments
- Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent industry experience
