Major Infrastructure and Construction Projects The Bench is inviting expressions of interest from experienced Commercial Managers interested in senior project and advisory opportunities across Queensland’s infrastructure and construction sectors.

We work with contractors, consultancies, project owners and delivery partners requiring commercially astute professionals to support complex, high-value projects.

Opportunities may include permanent appointments, project-based engagements and independent consulting assignments.

Depending on the engagement, you may be responsible for:

- Providing commercial leadership across the project lifecycle
- Developing and implementing commercial and contracting strategies
- Managing head contracts, consultancy agreements and major subcontract packages
- Advising project leaders on contractual obligations, commercial exposure and delivery risk
- Overseeing project budgets, forecasting, cost control and financial reporting
- Managing claims, variations, extensions of time and contractual correspondence
- Identifying emerging risks and developing practical mitigation strategies
- Supporting negotiations with clients, contractors, consultants and other delivery partners
- Monitoring contractor performance and compliance
- Preparing commercial reports and recommendations for senior leadership and project governance forums
- Resolving complex commercial and contractual issues
- Leading or supporting multidisciplinary project teams
- Developing commercial capability within project delivery teams
- Building productive relationships across operational, technical and executive stakeholders





About You We would be interested in speaking with professionals who offer:

- Significant commercial or contract-management experience within infrastructure, engineering or construction
- Experience working on complex, high-value projects
- Strong knowledge of Australian construction and infrastructure contracts
- An understanding of project cost, risk, procurement and governance
- Experience operating within multidisciplinary or integrated project teams
- The confidence to provide clear, commercially pragmatic advice to senior stakeholders
- Strong negotiation, communication and problem-solving skills
- A track record of improving accountability and commercial outcomes

Given our current projects, experience in transport infrastructure- including rail, roads or major civil works- would be advantageous, although professionals from other complex project environments are also encouraged to register their interest. Experience with cooperative delivery structures, alliances, incentivised contracting arrangements or other alternative procurement models will also be well regarded.

Relevant qualifications may include law, quantity surveying, construction management, engineering, commerce or a related discipline.
