About the role

You will act as the commissioning focal point for the project, working closely with the construction team, engineering, vendors and client representatives. Initially, your responsibilities will focus on getting ahead of immediate works, identifying technical and project constraints, resolving issues before they impact the schedule, and preparing the project for commissioning. As systems become available and the project transitions into commissioning, the role will progressively move into commissioning coordination, execution support and system handover.

Key responsibilities

- Look ahead of current construction activities to identify upcoming constraints, risks and technical issues
- Review drawings, documentation, construction progress and upcoming work fronts
- Identify design, access, interface and technical issues before they impact the schedule
- Drive technical and project issues through to resolution
- Support short and medium-term planning of electrical works
- Develop commissioning plans, priorities and readiness requirements
- Establish commissioning sequences and identify dependencies between systems
- Monitor construction completion and readiness for commissioning
- Coordinate outstanding works, defects and technical queries that may affect energisation or commissioning
- Support completions, walkdowns,

About you

- Strong electrical construction and commissioning experience within mining or heavy industry
- Previous experience in a Commissioning Coordinator, Commissioning Supervisor, Electrical Supervisor, Electrical Project Coordinator or similar role
- Strong knowledge of electrical commissioning processes
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, vendor documentation and project specifications
- Experience with commissioning planning, systemisation and handover
- Experience identifying and resolving technical and construction issues
- Solid planning and organisational skills
- Ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders and drive actions through to completion
- Practical understanding of completions, walkdowns, punch listing and commissioning readiness
- Ability to work autonomously and make decisions without requiring constant direction
