About LifeFlight
LifeFlight Australia is a leading aeromedical organisation dedicated to saving lives through rapid response medical services. Operating a fleet of helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft, LifeFlight delivers critical care and emergency retrievals across Queensland and beyond. In addition to its lifesaving missions, LifeFlight runs a world-class training academy, equipping aviation and medical professionals with the skills needed for high-pressure environments.
Our mission is to provide the highest standard of care and make a real difference in the communities we serve.
About The Role
Do you enjoy building meaningful relationships, bringing people together, and creating opportunities that make a difference? At LifeFlight, every partnership you build, event you deliver, and conversation you have helps support life-saving aeromedical missions across Queensland.
As a Community Engagement Lead, you’ll be the face of LifeFlight across the Sunshine Coast region, building strong relationships with individuals, businesses, schools, community groups, and supporters. You’ll inspire people to connect with our mission, grow local support, and create opportunities that help keep our crews in the air and delivering critical care when and where it matters most.
You’ll take the lead in delivering local community engagement initiatives, coordinating impactful fundraising events, developing sponsorship opportunities, and identifying new ways to grow LifeFlight’s presence and support across the region. You’ll also work closely with our dedicated volunteers, empowering them to represent LifeFlight and make a meaningful difference in their local communities.
Based on the Sunshine Coast, this is a full-time, fixed-term 12-month opportunity providing parental leave cover, working 38 hours per week. The role offers a varied mix of office, remote, and community-based work, with regular travel throughout the region to attend events, build relationships, and represent LifeFlight. A company vehicle is provided to support travel across your portfolio.
About You
You’re a people person with purpose. You know how to connect with others, build genuine relationships, and bring energy and enthusiasm to every interaction. Most importantly, you’re motivated by work that has a genuine impact.
You thrive in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same, and you take pride in delivering engaging events, campaigns, and community initiatives that create memorable experiences and inspire people to get behind a cause they believe in.
We’re Looking For Someone With

experience in community engagement, fundraising, events, promotional, or similar roles
- Strong public speaking and communication skills, with confidence engaging diverse audiences
- Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities, projects, and deadlines
- Strong digital capability, including Microsoft Office and CRM systems; Salesforce experience will be highly regarded
- A willingness to travel throughout the region, work occasional evenings and weekends, and assist with event setup, including light physical tasks
- A strong understanding of the local community and a current Queensland driver’s licence
- A cooperative mindset, with the ability to work autonomously and take ownership of your work
Bonus points if you bring:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications
- Experience managing volunteers
- Experience contributing to fundraising strategy, planning, or community development initiatives
This is more than a community engagement role. It’s an opportunity to use your relationship-building, creativity, and energy to connect people with a cause that saves lives. Every event you deliver, partnership you develop, and supporter you inspire contributes to LifeFlight’s ability to be there for people when they need us most.
If you’re ready to step into a varied and rewarding role, make a genuine impact in your local community, and be part of a passionate, purpose-driven team, we’d love to hear from you.
