Join the Team

As a Configuration Management Manager, you will lead and mature Configuration Management across NSW Health by governing CMDB/CMS data, driving service integration, improving compliance and data quality, and partnering with stakeholders to ensure trusted configuration information supports service delivery and decision-making. The role also leads a team of Configuration Analysts and drives continual improvement initiatives.

In this role, you will:

- Lead and mature Configuration Management practices across NSW Health, ensuring trusted configuration data supports service delivery, operational performance and informed decision-making.
- Govern Configuration Management Database (CMDB) and Configuration Management System (CMS) data, driving data quality, compliance and ongoing service integration improvements.
- Develop and maintain enterprise-wide Configuration Management frameworks, policies, standards and controls that promote consistency and accountability across the organisation.
- Partner with service owners, technical teams and stakeholders to strengthen Configuration Management practices and improve the integrity of configuration information.
- Monitor and report on Configuration Management compliance, governance outcomes, audits and data quality metrics, identifying opportunities for improvement and risk mitigation.




- Lead and support continual improvement initiatives that enhance the maturity, effectiveness and value of Configuration Management services.
- Manage and develop a team of Configuration Analysts, fostering a cooperative, high-performing culture focused on service excellence.
- Drive stakeholder engagement and influence outcomes across diverse groups to ensure Configuration Management obligations, ownership and governance requirements are understood and embedded.

About You

You’re a collaborative and influential service management leader who thrives in complex environments. You enjoy driving governance, improving service outcomes and building strong relationships across technical and business teams.

To be successful in this role, you'll bring:

- 3+ years’ experience in IT Service Management within a large and complex organisation, including Configuration Management and CMDB/CMS governance.
- Strong knowledge of ITIL practices, particularly Configuration Management, Change Enablement, Service Transition, Incident and Problem Management.
- Experience establishing and governing enterprise-wide frameworks, policies, standards, controls and compliance mechanisms.
- Demonstrated leadership experience building, mentoring and developing high-performing teams.
- Strong stakeholder engagement, influencing and negotiation skills, with the ability to drive accountability and outcomes.
- Experience managing data governance, audits, compliance activities, reporting and continual improvement initiatives.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex information into actionable insights.
- Demonstrated ability to lead organisational change and manage competing priorities in a complex environment.





Highly Desirable While not essential, we'll be highly interested in candidates with experience or knowledge in:

- ServiceNow CMDB, Configuration Management Systems (CMS) or similar enterprise platforms.
- Large-scale health, government or highly regulated environments.
- Asset lifecycle management, service mapping, discovery and automation technologies.
- Configuration data governance, RACI models and data ownership frameworks.
- Audit, risk and assurance practices relating to technology and service management environments.
- Relevant ITIL, Service Management or related certifications.
