Our Opportunity The primary purpose of this position is to carry out planning activities, including project management, providing support for projects lead by senior team members and the preparation of planning documentation and applications.
The successful candidate will efficiently deliver outcomes and documents that conform to planning and legislative requirements.
This opportunity will give you exposure to greenfield and established area residential developments, commercial and industrial developments and a range of public sector projects.
The role involves
- Keeping up to date with the latest planning policies, controls and regulations
- Researching and understanding planning policies and their impact on a site or proposal
- Preparation of planning permit applications, planning scheme amendments and general planning submissions
- Liaising and negotiating with councils and referral authorities
- Prioritising, monitoring and coordinating personal workloads to meet varying deadlines
- Working effectively in a diverse and large team setting
- Maintaining and promoting the client focus of the company at all times
- Conducting research to establish the development potential of sites as part of pre-purchase due diligence
- Writing high quality reports
- Attending site inspections and client meetings
- Prepare responses to requests for quotations
- Any other duties as reasonably required
About You
- Degree in Planning or other degree as relevant
- 2-4 years’ experience
- Practical knowledge of Victorian Planning system
- Understanding of planning and environmental legislation, controls and other influencing factors
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work autonomously
- Ability to conduct and understand technical analyses
- Proven experience in delivering quality results within budget and agreed time frames
- An ability to communicate effectively with all clients and stakeholders involved in the planning process
- Excellent organisational, planning and time management skills
- Effective and successful delivery of client needs
