Charterhouse Medical is recruiting a Consultant Psychiatrist (Forensic) for a locum placement with Statewide Mental Health Services, Tasmania.
The role sits within Community Forensic Mental Health in Hobart, providing services to community forensic and high risk civil patients. It also facilitates specialist mental health treatment of persons remanded and in prison, working as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Locum period: 8 October 2026 until 9 January 2027
Work pattern: Day work, full time
On call: Required Supervision/support: Statewide Speciality Director
Rate: $3,000 per day (covers 24 hour period)
$140 on call (per shift)
$300 callback per hour (callback not payable on rostered workdays)
Flights, accommodation and rental car are arranged by the locum provider, subject to cost approval from Statewide Mental Health Services.
Requirements include current AHPRA registration, Medicare provider number, evidence of current medical indemnity, a satisfactory National Criminal History Check less than 12 months old, and any applicable immigration/visa documentation.
