Zenith Search is partnering exclusively with a major Australian gold miner experiencing an exciting period of growth and investment across its operations.

As part of this continued expansion, we are seeking experienced Contract Specialists to join a growing commercial and supply function and take ownership of significant operational contracts across the business.

The position will initially operate on an 8:6 FIFO roster from Perth for approximately 3-6 months, providing the prospect to build strong relationships with site teams, understand the operation and gain first-hand exposure to the contracts under your portfolio.

The Role

Working as part of the broader Contracts and Commercial team, you will manage significant mining contracts and provide commercial support across the full contract lifecycle.

Working closely with operational leaders, site teams, suppliers and commercial stakeholders, you will be involved from initial sourcing strategy and tender development through to negotiation, contract award, supplier performance, variations, claims and ongoing contract management.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage significant and complex mining contract portfolios
- Lead end-to-end tendering and sourcing processes
- Prepare RFQs, RFPs, RFTs and associated commercial documentation




- Develop scopes of work and contracting strategies with operational stakeholders
- Conduct commercial evaluations and prepare recommendations for award
- Lead supplier and contractor negotiations
- Negotiate pricing, contractual terms, obligations and commercial risk
- Manage contracts throughout the post-award lifecycle
- Assess and negotiate variations, claims, extensions and contractual changes
- Review contractor payment claims and contractual entitlements
- Monitor supplier performance, KPIs and contractual compliance
- Identify commercial risks, savings opportunities and areas for improved value
- Manage contractual correspondence, notices and documentation
- Build strong relationships with key contractors and suppliers
- Provide commercial advice and support to operational and site stakeholders

About You

We are looking for experienced contracts professionals who are commercially astute and comfortable operating within a complex mining environment.

Ideally, you will bring:

- 5+ years' experience across Contracts, Commercial or Procurement
- Previous experience within mining, resources or heavy industry
- Demonstrated exposure to large and complex contract portfolios
- Experience managing significant contract spend, ideally $100M+




- Strong end-to-end tendering and contract formation capability
- Proven commercial negotiation experience
- Post-award experience including variations, claims and supplier performance
- Strong understanding of commercial terms and contractual risk
- Confidence partnering directly with operational and site-based stakeholders
- Strong commercial judgement and problem-solving capability
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to undertake an 8:6 FIFO roster for the initial 3-6 month period

Previous gold mining experience will be highly regarded, although strong candidates from iron ore, lithium, nickel, copper, mining services and other large-scale resources environments are encouraged to apply.
