Contracts Superintendent

Our client is a major gold miner, operating across the WA Goldfields and is seeking an experienced Contracts Superintendent to join thier commercial team in a key operational contracts role.

The role will initially operate on an 8/6 FIFO roster from Perth for approximately 3-6 months, allowing you to build strong relationships across the operation and gain a detailed understanding of the business. Following this period, the role is expected to transition to a Perth-based position.

The Role

As Contracts Superintendent, you will manage a portfolio of operational contracts and work closely with internal stakeholders to support strong commercial outcomes across the business.

You will be involved across the full contract lifecycle, including tendering, negotiation, contract award, contractor performance, variations and ongoing contract management.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage operational contracts across the full contract lifecycle.
- Lead and support tender, RFQ and RFP processes.
- Coordinate commercial evaluations and recommendations for award.
- Negotiate commercial terms and contractual agreements.
- Manage contract variations, claims, extensions and other commercial matters.
- Monitor contractor performance and contractual compliance.
- Build strong relationships with operational stakeholders, contractors and suppliers.
- Identify commercial risks and opportunities for improved value.
- Maintain appropriate contract documentation, reporting and governance.
- Support continuous improvement across contracting and commercial processes.

About You





You will be an experienced contracts professional with a robust understanding of commercial and contract management within a mining or resources environment.

Ideally, you will bring:

- Previous experience as a Contracts Superintendent, Contracts Lead, Senior Contracts Specialist or similar.
- Strong mining, resources or heavy-industry experience.
- Experience managing operational or service-based contracts.
- Strong knowledge of tendering, contract negotiation and contract administration.
- Experience managing variations, claims and contractor performance.
- Strong commercial judgement and negotiation capability.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- The ability to work effectively with operational teams in a site environment.
- Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems will be highly regarded.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Commerce, Business, Law, Procurement, Supply Chain or a related discipline will be advantageous.
