Commercial Cook (MistaBoo Sushi on Train – Springfield)

Position: Commercial Cook

Location: Shop PT1, 16 Springfield Parkway, Springfield QLD 4300

Work Type: Full-time

Salary: AUD70,000-80,000 per annum

About the Role

We are seeking a reliable and motivated Cook to join our team at our busy Sushi Train restaurant. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing, cooking, and plating Japanese cuisine items according to standard recipes while maintaining strict food safety and hygiene standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare, season, and cook a variety of Japanese dishes, including sushi ingredients, hot meals, tempura, grilled items, and side dishes.
- Follow established recipes, portion control specifications, and presentation standards.
- Operate standard commercial kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
- Regulate temperatures of ovens, grills, fryers, and other cooking equipment.
- Inspect food items for quality, freshness, and correct storage.
- Clean and sanitize kitchen work areas, equipment,



and utensils in compliance with food safety regulations.
- Assist with stock monitoring, rotation, and receiving kitchen deliveries.

Requirements & Qualifications

- Qualification/Experience: Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent qualification), OR at least 2 to 3 years of relevant full-time experience as a Cook.
- Skills: Solid understanding of food safety regulations, kitchen hygiene, and standard commercial cooking methods.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced setting and collaborate well within a team.
- Good communication skills.
- Valid working rights in Australia.
