The Role

We are looking for a Full-Time Cook to join this exciting and creative team who will report to the Head Chef. The kitchen is the heart of the restaurant, showcasing an open kitchen and offering an interactive dining experience for our guests.

Summary:

The Cook will assist the Head Chef in preparing nutritious, well balanced meals, and ensuring the quality and consistency of the food served. The ideal candidate should have a passion for cooking and a robust understanding of Aged Care kitchen protocols.

You will

- Prepare and cook meals in line with approved menus and dietary guidelines
- Cater for specialised diets (eg. soft foods, diabetic, low-sodium, allergy- aware meals)
- Ensure all meals are nutritious, appealing and appropriate for resident’s needs.
- Assist with menu planning.




- Maintain strict food safety and hygiene standards
- Monitor food temperatures, storage and handling procedures
- Manage stock rotation, ordering and minimise food waste
- Work collaboratively with kitchen staff, carers and management
- Assist with meal service and presentation where required

Qualifications:

- Diploma or Cert III/IV related qualification
- Experience in high-volume cooked (aged care, hospital, school or large-scale catering) – minimum 3 years’ experience
- Understanding of modified diets and nutrition for older adults (desirable)
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards
- Ability to work efficiently
- Good communication skill
- Strong organisation and time management skills
