This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded Cost Controller to support a range of major projects within a large, complex organisation. This role sits at the intersection of finance and operations, providing critical cost management, forecasting and reporting support to project stakeholders.
If you're someone who enjoys working closely with Project Managers, influencing decision making and driving financial performance across a portfolio of projects, and having tangible impact then this is worth a look.
Supporting a fast-paced project environment, you'll be responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, forecasting and cost control while partnering with operational stakeholders to provide meaningful financial insights.
Key responsibilities:

- Preparing variance analysis and providing commentary on project performance
- Partnering with Project Managers to review costs, trends, forecasts and project outcomes
- Maintaining project cost reports and supporting ongoing financial governance
- Assisting with project funding requests and approvals
- Supporting project controls activities, including forecasting and financial reviews
- Managing purchase requisitions and purchase orders across projects
- Maintaining project registers and ensuring data integrity across financial systems
- Supporting project close-out activities and capitalisation processes
- Providing accurate and timely financial information to support operational decision making
To be successful, you'll likely bring:
- Experience as a Project Accountant, Cost Controller or similar project finance role
- Robust forecasting, budgeting and cost management capabilities
- Experience supporting large-scale projects, infrastructure, resources, engineering or capital-intensive environments
- Knowledge of IFRS 15 (desirable)
- Advanced Excel and financial analysis skills
- Strong stakeholder engagement and business partnering capability
- Ability to explain financial outcomes to non-finance stakeholders
- High attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem solving
- Experience working in a deadline-driven environment
Why Consider This Role?
- Exposure to a highly complex, dynamic project environment
- Significant stakeholder engagement and business partnering opportunities
- Opportunity to influence project outcomes rather than simply report on them
- CBD location with future flexibility available once established in the role
- Strong brand name and career development opportunities
- Long-term opportunity to build project finance and commercial expertise
