East Perth

This is a role for a creative thinker, content leader and doer who knows that great content doesn’t happen by accident. You’ll own the content engine - from the big-picture strategy and creative direction through to the day-to-day content calendar, production process, platform execution and performance optimisation.

You’ll lead a small, high-performing content team and work closely with marketing, communications, commercial, membership, participation and venue teams to turn ideas, campaigns, matches and moments into content that fans genuinely want to watch, share and engage with.

At the heart of the role is content-led storytelling. We want someone who understands what makes content work on Instagram, Facebook, YouTube and other platforms - and who is comfortable shaping a shoot, directing creators, reviewing an edit or jumping on the tools when required to make it all happen.

You’ll help tell the stories of WA Cricket, Perth Scorchers, our players, teams, competitions, participants and communities, while delivering meaningful value for our members, fans and commercial partners.

How you’ll make an impact

- Develop and execute an integrated content strategy aligned to WA Cricket’s marketing, commercial and fan growth objectives.
- Lead, mentor and manage the Social Media Coordinator and Content Coordinator to deliver consistent, high-quality, platform-first content.
- Own the social content calendar across all teams, competitions and venues, ensuring timely, coordinated storytelling.
- Drive audience growth and engagement through data-led optimisation, platform trends, and best-practice social formats, with a strong focus on short-form and live video.
- Produce and oversee premium video content including match-day coverage, behind-the-scenes access, brand campaigns, and partner productions.
- Monitor performance analytics across all platforms,

translating insights into actionable improvements to reach, engagement, and conversion.
- Provide leadership and management to direct reports.
- Collaborate closely with Marketing/Communications, Commercial, Membership, Participation and Venue teams to support campaigns, events and partner deliverables.
- Identify new content opportunities, emerging platforms and technology to keep WA Cricket at the forefront of digital innovation.

A great fit for this role looks like

- 5+ years’ experience leading social or content requirements within sport, media, entertainment or consumer brands.
- Proven success growing social audiences and engagement across multiple platforms at scale.
- Strong video production capability, including ideation, scripting, shooting and editing (or directing creators).
- Demonstrated ability to interpret analytics and optimise content performance using data and insights.
- Experience managing content calendars, multi-stakeholder projects and fast-paced match/event environments.
- People leadership experience with the ability to coach, prioritise and foster a high-performing culture.
- Deep understanding of platform behaviours (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, LinkedIn and emerging channels).
- Solid storytelling, copywriting and creative thinking skills.
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Marketing, Communications, Media or related field (desirable).
