Mount St Benedict College is a girl's high school and a member of Good Samaritan Education with a community of ten schools across Australia. The College offers holistic Catholic education based on Good Samaritan Benedictine tradition and values including Pax, Hospitality and Stewardship.
The College is seeking a temporary Dance Academy Convenor for the 2027 school year.
This is a 0.4 FTE role with the days of work negotiable.
The purpose of this role is to deliver a comprehensive, enriching and high achieving co curricular dance program. The Dance Convenor needs to be able to guide and advise the relevant dance academy staff to enable the enhancement and development of an exceptional cocurricular dance program. They will successfully lead programs that make a positive contribution to the quality of the College and experience of the students.
Essential
- Demonstrated qualifications and/or experience in Dance and cocurricular programs in an educational setting
- Established capability to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders, including (but not limited to) students, parents, staff and peripatetic music tutors
- Proven ability to lead a team, with a high level of emotional intelligence to influence others (to deliver vision) and negotiate resolution of conflict
- Demonstrated excellence in organisational, problem solving and time management skills
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- Consistent adherence to and role modelling of high standard of ethical conduct,
exhibiting honesty, integrity and understanding in accordance with the Good Samaritan ethos.
- Understanding of appropriate legislation, especially copyright, and risk management
- Current First Aid Certificate, including CPR. Working with Children Check
Desirable
- Expertise and recent experience in leading, organising and administering quality cocurricular program in an educational setting
- Proven ability to lead initiatives that make a positive contribution to the quality of a cocurricular program and student wellbeing in an educational setting
- Hold qualified and personal attributes that encourage and influence others to reflect and improve their practice
