About The Role We’re currently seeking a Senior Business Analyst with solid Dayforce experience to support a range of project-based activities and new capability implementations. Unusually, this position will be based initially for 9-12 months on our client site in the northern suburbs of Sydney to support them exclusively across a variety of Dayforce related projects.
In this role, you’ll work closely with the client’s Program Manager and Lead Technical Specialist to translate business needs into clear functional requirements, support solution delivery and ensure changes align with business processes, governance and operational standards. You’ll also play an important role in maintaining project documentation, supporting data and process activities and preparing new capabilities for transition into business-as-usual (BAU) operations.
You’ll engage directly with P&C;, Payroll and Operations stakeholders to understand requirements, facilitate workshops and deliver practical solutions that improve HRIS, payroll and workforce operations. This is a dynamic role for someone who enjoys variety, problem-solving and making an impact.
Key Areas Of Responsibility Will Include
- Support the Program Manager and Lead Technical Specialist across all Dayforce project-based activities and new capability implementations.
- Lead business analysis activities including requirements gathering, stakeholder workshops, process mapping, gap analysis and functional specification development.
- Translate business requirements, company policies and operational needs into clear functional requirements and solution recommendations.
- Review and recommend configuration changes to ensure alignment with approved business requirements, design standards and governance frameworks.
- Work with the Lead Technical Specialist to assess the business impact of proposed configuration changes and support their implementation through appropriate change control processes.
- Maintain functional documentation, business process standards and governance artefacts including requirements, process maps, configuration records, decision logs and standard operating procedures.
- Analyse, cleanse and validate complex data sets to support data migration, system accuracy and project delivery.
- Provide the Lead Technical Specialist with data and process support including data extraction, reconciliation, validation, process analysis and investigation of functional issues.
- Support testing activities including test planning, scenario development, user acceptance testing, defect management and validation of business outcomes.
- Collaborate with technical consultants, vendor support teams and business stakeholders to investigate issues and support the resolution of configuration and processing errors.
- Support the migration of project-related products and new capabilities to the BAU team by preparing handover documentation, knowledge transfer materials, support procedures and transition artefacts.
- Provide PMO support to the Program Manager including maintaining project plans, RAID logs, action registers, status reports, meeting records and other project tools and artefacts.
- Set clear expectations and proactively communicate status updates, risks, dependencies and impacts to internal and external stakeholders on project-related activities.
- Build trusted relationships with client stakeholders, taking the time to understand their business goals, compliance needs and operational challenges.
Skills And Experience
- Minimum 3–5 years proven experience as a Business Analyst, preferably within Dayforce, HRIS, payroll or workforce management implementation and support environments.
- Demonstrated experience working across Dayforce projects and an understanding of relevant platform, talent, payroll or workforce management modules.
- Confident facilitating client-facing workshops, discovery sessions and translating business needs into functional and system requirements.
- Skilled in documenting business and functional requirements, process maps, user stories, acceptance criteria and clear specification documents.
- Experience reviewing configuration changes and supporting governance, change control and solution design processes.
- Strong data analysis skills with experience in data extraction, cleansing, reconciliation and validation.
- Experience supporting testing activities, defect management and the transition of project deliverables into BAU support.
- Strong organisational and project coordination skills with experience maintaining project documentation, registers and PMO artefacts.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage confidently with stakeholders from frontline users to executive sponsors.
- Strong problem-solving mindset with a focus on delivering practical, scalable solutions.
- Organised, detail-oriented and able to manage multiple priorities while delivering high-quality outcomes.
- Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a consulting team environment.
- Comfortable working in fast-moving projects, with the flexibility to adapt to shifting timelines and evolving client needs.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel, with experience using project and documentation tools such as Jira and Confluence.
- Australian payroll or compliance experience is beneficial but not required.
