About The Opportunity This is a newly created role with the opportunity to help build and mature More's Engineering delivery function as the business continues to scale and transitions to more agentic ways of working.
As Delivery Practice
Lead, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring initiatives are delivered predictably and efficiently, while embracing new technology tools and practices as they emerge. You will uplift and scale the Engineering function by improving delivery disciplines, planning, capacity management, governance, performance metrics, and ways of working.
Working closely with leads across IT and business areas, you will support planning, prioritisation, governance, stakeholder engagement, and drive delivery execution across a portfolio of strategic initiatives. A key focus will be partnering to establish an productive lifecycle and clear flow from idea, requirements and specification through to delivery, adoption and measurable outcomes as More transitions to agentic delivery practices.
You'll Be Successful In This Role If You
- Bring structure, discipline, and predictability to delivery, ensuring commitments are planned, tracked, and achieved.
- Manage multiple priorities simultaneously while maintaining visibility of risks, dependencies, resource constraints, and timelines.
- Build strong relationships across Product, Engineering, PMO, Enterprise Architecture, Operations, and Executive stakeholders, driving alignment and informed decision-making.
- Communicate exceptionally well, translating complex technical and delivery challenges into clear, actionable business updates.
- Proactively identify issues, remove obstacles, and escalate risks early to keep initiatives on track.
- Use data and metrics to improve delivery performance,
resource utilisation, predictability, and team effectiveness.
- Foster a culture of accountability, ownership, and continuous improvement across delivery and engineering teams.
- Combine a pragmatic Agile mindset with strong governance, balancing flexibility with planning, controls, and business outcomes.
- Uplift and scale engineering capability by enabling the adoption of agentic tools, practices, improved ways of working, and stronger delivery maturity.
- Support ITS and business stakeholders to improve lifecycle flow from requirements and specification through to delivery, adoption, and benefits realisation as agentic ways of working are embedded.
- Partner with the Head of Engineering and CIO to optimise the engineering operating model, eliminating inefficiency, and maximising return on technology investment
About You We don't expect you to tick every box, but we're looking for a commercially minded finance leader who can partner with the business to drive performance and growth:
- Proven experience leading the delivery of complex technology, digital, or transformation programs in fast-paced environments.
- Strong delivery management expertise across planning, governance, RAID, reporting, dependency management, and execution.
- Experience applying agentic tools, practices, and ways of working to improve delivery flow, engineering productivity, specification quality, and adoption.
- Experience applying Agile, Scrum, Kanban, or hybrid frameworks pragmatically to suit the situation, supported by solid change management.
- A track record of improving delivery predictability, performance, and meaningful delivery/engineering metrics.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence and build credibility from engineering teams through to executives.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams and creating alignment across Product, Engineering, Operations, and business functions.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities, with the confidence to challenge constructively and drive timely outcomes.
- A continuous improvement mindset focused on uplifting ways of working, team performance, and measurable business outcomes.
- Commercial and operational acumen, including resource planning, budgeting, vendor management, and cost optimisation.
- Experience in the telecommunications industry or other regulated environments.
Key Focus Areas In Your First Few Months You'll focus on building context, creating visibility and delivering early impact. Your priorities will include:
- Establish an agentic adoption plan in partnership with ITS leads and key business stakeholders, including practical enablement, change management routines, and lifecycle improvements from idea through to delivery.
- Establish a clear, consistent delivery reporting framework, giving leadership visibility of progress, risks, dependencies, and commitments that are currently lacking
- Implement meaningful engineering and delivery metrics (velocity, throughput, capacity, cycle time) to create transparency and a baseline for improvement.
- Introduce reliable capacity and resource planning to improve forecasting, reduce over-commitment, and align demand with available delivery capacity.
- Improve delivery predictability by strengthening planning, prioritisation, and governance, ensuring commitments are realistic and consistently met.
- Identify and address key delivery bottlenecks and ways-of-working gaps to lift velocity, throughput, and overall engineering performance.
- Drive delivery of key strategic initiatives and milestones in FY27.
