Telecommunications/Network Engineer (Level 3)

Altitude is seeking a Telecommunications/Network Engineer (Level 3) for an established Australian telecommunications company specialising in fibre optic infrastructure and managed broadband networks.

n

The role will support engineering, deployment, commissioning and ongoing management of complex telecommunications infrastructure, includingFTTP/FTTB fibre networks, GPON/XG-PON, OLTs, ONTs, active Ethernet, switching, routing, Wi‐Fi and managed broadband services.

n

The successful candidate will be comfortable working independently on complex technical issues and providing practical solutions to customers, contractors, developers, project managers and internal team.

Key Responsibilities:

n

- Provide advanced Level 3 technical support, diagnosing and resolving escalated network and customer issues
n
- Design, review and troubleshoot fibre optic networks, including GPON, XG-PON and active Ethernet deployments
n
- Configure and troubleshoot Layer 2 and Layer 3 network infrastructure, including VLANs, DHCP, DNS,



NAT and routing
n
- Work closely with project managers, developers and contractors, providing technical input across design, construction and commissioning stages
n
- Maintain accurate technical documentation, including network diagrams, configurations and fault investigation reports
n

Key Requirements:

n

n
- Proven experience in telecommunications or network engineering, preferably at Level 3 or equivalent
n
- Practical experience with GPON, XG-PON/XGS-PON and OLT/ONT technology
n
- Strong understanding of IP networking and Layer 2/Layer 3 technologies
n
- Experience configuring and troubleshooting switches and routers
n
- Solid knowledge of VLANs, DHCP, DNS, NAT, routing and IP addressing
n
- Current Australian driver licence, with the ability to work independently on complex technical problems
