Where you'll be working

Gunnedah Dental Clinic is located within the Gunnedah Hospital campus and operates Monday to Friday from 8:00am to 4:30pm. The clinic provides high-quality dental care to adults and children across Gunnedah and surrounding communities. As part of a small, close-knit team, you'll enjoy a supportive workplace where collaboration, open communication and patient-centred care are at the heart of everything we do.

The Opportunity

As a Dental Assistant, you'll play an important role in delivering efficient, high-quality dental services by providing both clinical and administrative support to the Dental Unit. You'll work closely with dentists and the wider team to ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of the clinic while helping create a positive experience for every patient. This is a rewarding opportunity to build meaningful relationships with patients, contribute to improved oral health outcomes, and be part of a team that values collaboration and quality care.

You'll be supported with a comprehensive orientation and ongoing guidance from the Oral Health management team to help you succeed and continue developing your skills.

About You The suitable applicant will be skilled in the provision of a high level of clinical dental assistance within prescribed standards of infection control and patient safety. You will also have a professional and compassionate attitude and well-developed oral and written communication skills that are utilised to build strong relationships with key stakeholders. Your competence in performing and assisting with oral health care procedures and ability work effectively and efficiently in a team setting will be the key to your success in this position.

Requirements





- Current Dental Assistant Certificate recognised by the Dental Assistant Education Council of Australia up to the level of Certificate 3 or deemed as an experienced dental assistant from past experience.

- An eligibility list will be created for future permanent part time and temporary part time vacancies.
- To be eligible for employment in this position you must be an Australian Citizen, or permanent resident of Australia, or a Recent Zealand citizen with a current New Zealand Passport, or hold an appropriate visa that allows you to live and work in Australia. Employment of a temporary visa holder will only be offered in line with the conditions and expiry date of your visa.
