Design the experience. Lead the standard!

At Liveware Group, we're looking for a Design Lead to lead the design function across our technology portfolio while remaining firmly hands-on.

You'll be designing every day, shaping user experiences, solving complex UX/UI problems and turning ideas into intuitive, engaging digital products.

Alongside the hands-on work, you'll own and evolve our design framework, set quality standards, mentor the team and work closely with clients, Project Managers and Engineers to ensure great design makes it all the way through to delivery.

This is a hands-on role for someone who wants to stay close to the work while shaping how design is done across the business.

Responsibilities:

Hands-on Design

- Lead UX/UI design across client projects, from discovery and user flows through to high-fidelity designs and prototypes.
- Design every day — solving complex UX/UI problems and creating intuitive, engaging digital experiences.
- Take ownership of design from initial concept through to implementation.
- Work directly with clients to understand requirements and translate them into effective digital experiences.
- Collaborate closely with engineers and developers throughout delivery to ensure designs are implemented to a high standard.
- Conduct and contribute to user research, usability testing and design validation.

Design Leadership & Framework
- Own and evolve Liveware’s design framework, including UX/UI standards, design systems, user flows, wireframing, prototyping and ways of working.




- Set and maintain high design standards across all projects.
- Lead design reviews and provide constructive feedback and guidance to the team.
- Mentor and support designers, helping develop their skills and raise the quality of their work.
- Continuously improve our design processes, tools and practices as the business grows.

Client & Team Collaboration
- Present designs and design rationale confidently to clients and manage feedback through to resolution.
- Work closely with Project Managers and Engineering Leads to align design priorities, capacity and delivery requirements.
- Contribute to discovery workshops, product thinking, solution development and pre-sales activities.
- Help identify design resource requirements and support effective allocation across projects.

What we're looking for:

- Strong experience in UX/UI or digital product design, ideally within an agency, technology or digital services environment.
- Proven experience leading design across complex digital projects.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating excellent UX and UI design capability.
- Experience developing and maintaining design systems, frameworks and standards.
- Strong understanding of user-centred design, responsive design and accessibility.
- Confident working directly with clients and presenting design concepts and rationale.
- Experience mentoring or guiding other designers.
- Solid collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with Project Managers, Engineers and clients.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- A hands-on designer who wants to remain close to the work while leading and developing the wider design practice.
