Create content investors actually want to watch, read and share.

The Market Link is looking for a Digital Journalist & Content Producer to create and develop original editorial, interviews, video and digital content for Australia's investor community.

This is a role for someone who wants to find and create interesting stories — not just report on what happened in the market that day.

We're looking for someone who is curious, creative and interested in finding stories, ideas and people that will genuinely interest our audience. Someone who asks good questions, enjoys talking to people, can spot an interesting angle and turn it into a story worth reading, watching or listening to.

The end result could be an article, interview, video, explainer, podcast segment, social content or a combination of formats.

You'll work closely with Editorial, Video Production, Sales and Client Services to develop content that is accurate, engaging and relevant to a digital-first investor audience.

Who are we?

With offices in Perth, WA and a growing presence in Newcastle, NSW, The Market Link is a leader in connecting investors with listed companies through strategic digital marketing campaigns and high-impact investor engagement. We're driven by a passion for delivering exceptional client outcomes, focused through innovation, insight, and collaboration.

In partnership with HotCopper — Australia’s largest stock market and financial community platform with over 7 million investors and subscribers — The Market Link helps listed companies cut through the noise and directly engage with an active retail investor audience. Through this powerful partnership, we empower our clients to amplify their brand visibility, strengthen investor relations, and drive capital markets success.

What you'll do

- Develop original stories and content around companies, sectors, investment themes and issues that matter to HotCopper's audience.
- Find interesting angles by following market trends, investor conversations, emerging themes and discussions across HotCopper and the wider investment community.
- Think about what investors will find helpful or interesting and determine the best way to tell the story.
- Research and develop original editorial features, explainers, interviews and longer-form content.
- Interview CEOs, executives, analysts, investors,

experts and other interesting voices.
- Prepare for interviews by researching the subject and developing questions that get beyond the standard corporate talking points.
- Produce video interviews, explainers, short-form content and other digital formats.
- Appear on camera when appropriate and as needed. You don't need to be a traditional presenter, but you should be comfortable interviewing people and talking to camera.
- Take responsibility for client video content when required, including researching and preparing for interviews, developing questions, filming and working with the production process through to delivery.
- Help develop and produce HotCopper content series including Market Open, Watchlist, Wiser Wealth, Expert Exchange and new formats as they develop.
- Turn interviews and original content into multiple pieces across HotCopper, YouTube, social media, newsletters and other channels.
- Work with the editorial and wider team to identify opportunities for follow-up stories, series and new content ideas.
- Understand how investors discover and consume digital content, including the role of SEO, social media, video, newsletters and distribution.
- Use audience and content performance data to understand what resonates and help shape future content.
- Work closely with Editorial, Client Services, Sales and Video to develop content that is useful to investors and delivers value for HotCopper and its clients.

About you You may already have experience in journalism, digital media, video or content production — or you may be earlier in your career and looking for an opportunity to develop those skills.

What's most important to us is curiosity, good communication, a willingness to learn and an instinct for finding interesting stories.

We're looking for someone who asks good questions, enjoys talking to people and wants to understand what investors actually care about.

You don't need to be a financial markets expert.

You might already have an interest in business, markets or investing, or simply be curious about how companies, industries and the economy work. What's important is that you're keen to learn.

You'll ideally have

- Strong writing and communication skills.
- Excellent research skills and attention to detail.
- The confidence to interview CEOs, executives, experts and other interesting people.
- An ability to find a story or angle and develop it into useful content.
- Experience on camera and interviewing people.
- An understanding of how audiences discover and consume digital content.
- An interest in social media, YouTube, SEO and digital publishing.
- Good judgement and a commitment to accuracy.
- The ability to work independently while collaborating with a wider editorial and commercial team.
- A practical approach and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.

This is a role for someone who wants to create, not just publish. We're not looking for someone whose day is simply rewriting announcements.

We want someone who can look at what's happening in a sector, a company, a market or a HotCopper discussion and think:

"That's interesting. There's a story here."

Then work out what we should do with it.

That might mean speaking to an expert, interviewing a CEO, building an explainer, producing a video, writing a feature or developing an idea into a broader content series.

You'll have the opportunity to help shape what HotCopper's editorial and video offering becomes next.

Why join us?

- Work with one of Australia's best-known investor communities.
- Create content for an active audience of investors and market participants.
- Interview CEOs, executives, analysts and industry experts.
- Work across journalism, video, digital content and audience development.
- Help develop new editorial and video formats.
- Work across both HotCopper editorial and The Market Link's client content.
- Build experience across multiple digital channels including HotCopper, YouTube, social and newsletters.
- Hybrid working environment based in Perth.

Interested? If you're curious, creative, interested in markets and love finding a good story, we'd like to hear from you.

Apply now with your CV, a short cover letter, and examples of your writing or video work.
