Community Work Australia is looking for an experienced senior leader to help shape our next chapter.
This newly created Director role will sit alongside the CEO and two fellow Directors and will lead strategy, stakeholder engagement, membership, policy and research, advocacy and communications across a national peak body with a transparent social purpose.
This is not a traditional communications or stakeholder role. We are looking for someone with genuine executive maturity - a strategist, relationship builder and collaborator who can represent the organisation confidently, influence senior stakeholders and help build a strong, cohesive leadership team.
Community Work Australia operates under a Carver Policy Governance model. The Board sets the strategic direction for the organisation, and the leadership team is responsible for translating those outcomes into strategy, priorities and delivery.
The successful person will
- shape organisational strategy and long-term priorities;
- strengthen Community Work Australia’s influence with government and the sector;
- lead membership and stakeholder strategy;
- build policy, research and advocacy capability;
- oversee communications and organisational positioning; and
- contribute actively to collective leadership across Community Work Australia.
We are particularly interested in people already operating at Director or equivalent level who have experience in peak bodies, professional associations, government, policy, advocacy, consulting or other purpose-led organisations.
This is a role with genuine scope to build, influence and lead.
