About Ability Network
Join Ability Network, the region’s largest community-based, not-for-profit disability support organisation, providing person-centred supports across Cowra and Central West NSW. We empower people of all abilities to live meaningful, connected lives through high-quality in‑home and group program supports.
We are recruiting Disability Support Workers who can work structured morning and late afternoon/evening shifts to support people in their homes. Applicants who are only available during school hours or standard business hours will not be considered for these positions. You will provide day to day support that promotes independence, wellbeing and participation in everyday life, including domestic tasks in the home and personal care where required.
What we’re looking for
- Genuine commitment to the wellbeing, rights and inclusion of people living with disability.
- Reliable availability for regular morning and late afternoon/evening shifts (including some weekends and public holidays as rostered).
- Willingness to learn, take on feedback, and challenge yourself in a busy, client focused environment.
- Robust communication skills and ability to build respectful, professional relationships with participants, families and colleagues.
- Comfortable working in people’s homes, following support plans and maintaining accurate shift notes.
Experience providing personal care (e.g. showering, dressing, toileting)
is desirable but not essential – we will provide training and support for the right people. More important than prior experience is your attitude: you must be willing to learn, uphold professional standards, and contribute positively to the lives of the people you support.
Essential requirements
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check and Working with Children Check (or ability to obtain)
- National Police Check
- Valid NSW Driver’s licence and reliable vehicle.
- Right to work in Australia.
- Current First Aid and CPR and on the job training provided.
- Basic digital literacy for electronic rostering, documentation and communication.
Why join Ability Network?
