About the role

We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Disability Support Workers to join the Sirv Group team in Rockhampton and the Capricorn Coast region of Queensland. This is a casual position that offers flexibility while making a meaningful difference in the lives of people with disabilities. As a Disability Support Worker, you will provide essential support and assistance to individuals with various disabilities, helping them to live independently, participate in community activities, and achieve their personal goals.

This role is fundamental to our mission of delivering person-centred care and support services that empower our clients to lead fulfilling lives.

Key responsibilities

- Provide direct personal care assistance, including support with activities of daily living such as grooming, hygiene, dressing and meal preparation
- Support clients in accessing community activities, social events and recreational opportunities that promote engagement and wellbeing
- Assist clients with mobility, transportation and accompanying them to medical appointments and other essential services
- Help clients develop and maintain life skills to promote independence and self-determination
- Maintain detailed and accurate records of support provided and any changes in client needs or circumstances
- Communicate effectively with clients, families, carers and other team members to ensure continuity of care
- Respect client privacy and dignity at all times whilst maintaining professional boundaries
- Follow all health and safety protocols, including infection control procedures and manual handling techniques
- Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance your support skills and knowledge
- Report any concerns, incidents or safeguarding issues promptly to your supervisor

What we're looking for





- Genuine compassion and patience for working with people with disabilities and diverse support needs
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to listen actively and respond sensitively to individual needs
- Reliability and punctuality, particularly important in a casual role where consistent support is valued
- Ability to assist clients with mobility and personal care tasks safely
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Card (Yellow card) and/or Working with Children Card (blue card) (or willingness to obtain)
- Current driver's licence and a reliable vehicle with comprehensive insurance.
- First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a person-centred, inclusive setting. Understanding of disability support principles and commitment to promoting client choice and control.
- Previous experience in aged care, disability support, healthcare or community services is highly valued but not essential as full training will be provided.
