About the role

Woof Society is seeking a passionate and skilled Dog Groomers to join our team on a full-time/part-time and casual basis. This role is based in Indooroopilly, QLD 4068 and is essential to delivering exceptional grooming services and ensuring the health, comfort and wellbeing of the dogs in our care. As a Dog Groomer, you will play a vital part in maintaining the highest standards of animal care whilst building strong relationships with our clients and their beloved pets.

What you'll be doing

- Bathing, shampooing and conditioning dogs using appropriate products and techniques suitable for different coat types and skin conditions
- Trimming, clipping and styling dog coats according to breed standards and client preferences
- Performing nail trimming, ear cleaning and other hygiene maintenance tasks with precision and care
- Inspecting dogs for signs of skin conditions, injuries, parasites or health concerns and reporting findings to management
- Handling and restraining dogs safely and compassionately throughout the grooming process
- Maintaining a clean and hygienic grooming environment, including sanitising equipment and facilities
- Communicating with clients to understand their grooming requirements and providing qualified advice on coat care and breed-specific grooming
- Developing and maintaining detailed grooming records for each dog
- Ensuring all health and safety protocols and animal welfare standards are followed consistently

What we're looking for

- Demonstrated experience grooming a variety of dog breeds with proficiency in different grooming styles and techniques
- Have completed some grooming training or worked under an experienced groomer
- A thorough understanding of dog anatomy, coat types, breed standards and health and safety requirements
- Excellent handling skills with the ability to calm anxious or difficult dogs whilst maintaining safety
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality grooming results




- Physical fitness and stamina for a hands-on role involving standing, bending and lifting throughout the day
- Genuine passion for animal welfare and a commitment to treating every dog with compassion and respect
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with clients, colleagues and management
- Reliability, professionalism and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Knowledge of pet health, nutrition and common canine conditions is preferred
- Minimum of 3 months experience in a same role.
